Faika: Our Newest & Youngest Member of Kay Mari

We are exited to announce the arrival of our youngest member of the Kay Mari household, Faika!!! Here is her story. Keep her in your prayers along with the rest of the team as we give thanks to God for allowing us this opportunity to help this beautiful child!

God Bless,

Faika’s mother was 16 when she found out she was pregnant. While she was pregnant she still acted as though she was almost in a way in denial of the baby. Her friend, Fabiola, was with her through this entire pregnancy, and when Faika was born it was Fabiola that would bring her to doctor’s appointments because her mother didn’t seem to care. Her mother would often go out and leave her alone for hours on the floor, forgetting to feed her or even give her water. When Faika was 1 month old her mother left and never came back. Fabiola took the baby in, but being a young working Haitian woman she could not meet the needs of Faika. We already see the effects of being left alone in Faika. As Fabiola said, “she knows she’s an orphan, that’s why she doesn’t ask for much.” Now she has gone from having nothing, not even being able to find someone to feed her, to having everything, and 18 other little hands who want to love on her all day long. Thank you God for this little gift!

Soulfest & Mission Haiti Team Up

Ladies and Gentlemen … Drum roll please …

Soulfest is excited about Sean’s new album, “LIVE, LOVE, LEAD.” Soulfest just announced that Sean Forrest is the official opener for Casting Crowns on August 4th on the Main Stage at Soulfest 2012!

We need everyone there to celebrate this amazing moment.  In fact 50 OF YOU can share the stage with Sean and other special-guest Christian music artists to sing before more than 15,000+  fans that night!

In addition to all of this, Soulfest has officially taken Mission Haiti on as a ministry partner for Soulfest 2012! Soulfest is New England’s premier music festival (August 1-4, at New Hampshire’s Gunstock Mountain).

So what does all of this mean?

First, the concert on Main Stage is going to ROCK! You know you have to be there!

Second, YOU can be a part of it, right in the middle of the action on stage if you choose. Go to our Kickstarter campaign page and choose the Soulfest Idol incentive!

Third, this collaboration puts the power & influence of Soulfest behind Mission Haiti. Soulfest will be helping to tell the Mission Haiti story, encouraging trips, and helping to raise funds for the important work of MWTS. There will be 4 episodes of Soulfest TV centered on the Soulfest’s recent mission trip to our village in Haiti … and the MWTS Mission Haiti logo will be all over Soulfest’s marketing efforts this spring and summer.

Fourth, purchasing Soulfest tickets will help in the Mission: For any tickets you purchase at the Soulfest website  with this special code: FORREST12 … proceeds of the multi-day passes go right back to Mission Haiti. We need our MWTS family to join us in this!

And fifth, as a super-special thank you for your ticket purchase, you’ll also receive a ticket to the MWTS reception on site at Soulfest 2012 with Sean Forrest, Dan Russell and the Soulfest TV crew, the band, the Mission Haiti team, and our special guest from Haiti, Fr. Louis Merosne! Fr. Louis will also be saying Mass for us at Soulfest 2012. It just keeps getting more and more exciting.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us to make this album and this ministry a reality … It’s only with you that we can keep the momentum going … keep sharing with your friends … Run Forrest Run! Lets do this thing.
